The Rebekahs are a service-oriented organization of people who desire to foster friendships and become more involved in their communities while following the principles of Friendship, Love and Truth.
Guided by these principles, the Rebekahs undertake charitable fundraisers and volunteer activities with other organizations in their local communities. We also operate under the Golden Rule:
“Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you, do ye even so unto them.”
With lodges throughout the United States and around the world, the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies offers a way to meet people and find community while visiting or relocating to a new city.
A history of friendship and service
Originally founded as the Daughters of Rebekah (named in reference to the Biblical Rebekah) in 1851 as an honorary award given to the wives and daughters of members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Rebekahs gained the right to create their own lodges while remaining a branch of the Odd Fellows and continuing the mission to visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead and educate the orphan.
Though designed to be a female auxiliary to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Rebekahs now allow anyone to join, regardless of sex or gender.
Our own chapter in Belmont
